The time to think about holiday decorating is going to creep up on us really fast here soon. So to keep the stress of “what to do?!” at bay, my friends and I have come together to share our best Holiday decorating inspiration with you. A la “Christmas in July” style.
If you’re new around here, you may not yet know that I consider myself a bohemian. And my interiors and even holiday decorating reflect that. I bring in some vintage pieces, some whimsical pieces and some pieces from around the world. I went into some detail last Holiday season but today I want to show more options.
How To Decorate For A Bohemian Christmas
Nix the traditional tree skirt
Use a tapestry
Use a textile remnant

Up The Ornament Game
Make Ornaments
The posibilities are limitless. There’s seriously a DIY ornament out there for everyone. I already have some ideas for this next year- you’ll love them so don’t miss it! To start getting ideas brewing on the back burner of your brain, here are some I’ve made in the past:
Thrift Shop For Ornaments
Glittered Twig Ornaments | Vintage Ornaments
Support Handmade Craft (especially remote artisans)
Hop on Etsy and search for people who handmake ornaments in a style you like.
Support remote artisans by purchasing through places like GlobeIN and Artisan Connect who facilitate fair trade business with the makers.
GlobeIn Promo: Use code: FREEPICNIC & receive a FREE Picnic Box with a purchase of a 3-month or longer Artisan Box subscription!
Make Your Garland
Get crafty and channel the ways of traditional Christmases. Garlands used to be made up of edibles like:
Beaded
Popcorn
Dried Fruit
Stepping away from the Christmas tree…

Lanterns filled with Twinkle Lights
Stockings with Boho Flair
Decorate the Mantle with Fringe Garland
Use Natural or Natural Looking Greenery, Pinecones and gathered sticks. Embellish them with funky ornaments.
Pick up fancier suzani type cloth to deck the table with.
Essentially, all you have to do to have a fabulously boho Christmas is to take the basics of regular decorating and swap out some ultra fun boho pieces instead.
Boho not your thing? Booooo. Just kidding! I totally get it. Farmhouse? Not at all mine. Which is why I’m excited to have partnered with my friends to bring you loads of different Christmas decorating styles. Check them out below:

Loving the tapestry as a tree skirt tip- there are so many pretty tapestries that would look perfect under a tree. 🙂

Okay, I’ve gotta find a way to incorporate the fringe idea into my decor this year! I’ve always love the boho look, and I’m just now figuring out how to incorporate that into my classic styling without it looking out of place. I’m so excited! Thanks for sharing your tips!
