I can’t believe we’re already nearly halfway through January. I ended up doing a lot of selfish shopping for myself around the holidays and I thought I’d share the boho bath and kitchen purchases with you. Because you guys get me, I’m sure you’ll totally get the excitement behind these buys. And I think they kind of give a small glimpse into where things are going these next few months (I gave a vague forecast in this post). And, of course, they’ve got a boho style I think you’ll enjoy.
As I briefly touched on last week, I’m planning on giving the kitchen a bit of a facelift. I’ve started looking around to get an idea of what I want to change, how much I can budget to change, and what vibe I want the whole space to have.
Let’s chat: Boho Bath and Kitchen Buys
Kitchen Purchases:
It recently became a priority for me to remove all plastic containers from the kitchen. I don’t buy a lot of bulk pastas and grains because I don’t cook much. So I gave away the large collection of plastic pantry items in favor of two glass containers with adorable elephant lids. I bought them at Tuesday Morning. I love that place! I’d heard so many people talk about it and I finally see it now that I live closer to one.
I’ve also purchased a pot rack. You probably know by now how much I love mixing metals so I chose to throw some copper into the space. Unfortunately, the one I picked up isn’t as copper as pictured. Nonetheless, I can’t wait to get this thing set up and claim a drawer back!
My collection of mugs grew quite a bit over the past month. It’s one of a few things I actually collect. I picked up a couple sets of copper moscow mule mugs from Tuesday Morning. I can’t wait to do some changes to the kitchen so I can hang them on display (more copper ftw!). I’ve been dying for the copper accents in Justyna‘s kitchen so these are a perfect little dose of copper for my kitchen.
I also picked up a set of coffee mugs. The shop is LeSouk Ceramique and I discovered them through GlobeIN. (check out my review of their monthly subscription). They are seriously so beautiful. In my kitchen GlobeIn box I received another LeSouk Ceramique item, a tangine. Unfortunately, I can’t find a current source for them.
Cleaning Products
We are chatting purchases though and I did purchase a few items from GlobeIN separate from a subscription. I gifted an adorable dragon pillow pet (no longer available) to my son for his jungle boho room. He was disappointed it wasn’t a toy- Christmas can be hard for a 3 year old. But I sure enjoy having it around! I also picked up a sampling of soap nuts (trying to go chemical free in the laundry room this year!). Oh, and a candle (from Sundos Etsy shop) that smells incredible burning.
Speaking of the soap nuts, my mom bought a ton of Mrs Meyer’s products for me for Christmas since she knows the changes I’m trying to make. The only thing I noticed was missing was a dishwasher tablet. Which got me on a whole slew of websites searching for organic and chemical free and cruelty free. EWG is a great resource if you’re interested. It is a lot to take in and I hope I made the best decision for me. I discovered and purchased Ecover dishwasher tablets from Amazon. Kind of relevant so I figured I’d mention it. I was thinking of doing a post later in the spring about the products I’m using. Would that be remotely interesting?
Bathroom Buys:
For the bathroom I picked up new soaps. I’m also trying to be more careful about the soaps and lotions we’re using (cruelty free, paraben free) and the bathroom remodel felt like the perfect time to switch out those items. I picked up Pacifica soaps and holy cow these soaps are amazing. I have very sensitive, eczema prone skin. I’ve always had to avoid products with scents but I took a chance on these. Update: Unfortunately, they’ve discontinued their bar soaps. I’ve been buying the Alaffia bar soaps recently and I enjoy them just as much!
I think the only other things I’ve bought are rugs. One I bought from RugsUSA to put down under the teal rug in my living room. That paired with a rug pad makes it so cushy for sitting on the floor!). Another 2 I picked up on eBay and I don’t want to spoil that yet since they’re going to be used in upcoming spaces- one of which we start challenge style tomorrow. And they’re vintage so they can’t be bought again. But, they were from ecarpetgallery on eBay, they had a buy 2 or more get 10% promo going on.
That felt embarrassingly long since we’ve just gotten past a season of giving. But these boho bath and kitchen buys are all beautiful additions to our home. Tomorrow I’ll be introducing one of the spaces getting a facelift for a challenge. Can’t wait to share! (PS, the bathroom is basically done as far as the contractor’s work is concerned. I’ll be picking back up on those projects in February.)
