The other day I shared with you where I create. Today I want to follow upΒ with not only where I share my creations, but a #craigslistscore too! The desk I blog at is one of the very first pieces I scored on Craigslist. And for a crazy good deal of $20.
Feminine and Edgy Home Office
I used to keep my desk centered in front of the window to the left, but I found myself gazing out the window far too frequently. Perched here, I find myself very productive and focused.
An overview of the wall my desk rests against: DIY Macrame Plant Hanger, DIY Bohemian Arrow, DIY Simple Stenciled Shelf, DIY Gold Plastic Animal Picture Holders, DIY Vase Lamp, DIY Painted Arrow Pillow.
The cork board is a simple square of cork from the craft store attached to the wall with upholstery tacks. The board stays packed with notes, but that’s OK. I found the adorable pink recycling can at the dollar store.
My DIY space is Bubby approved too!
This desk has seen so many places! Inside the center drawer are address stamps from Pensacola, FL to McLean, VA.
Just beneath the work surface are 2 panels that pull out for additional work surface area. How cool is that?
I keep cosmetics and beauty items in the drawers to the right for now. I’m not sure where I’ll end up putting them, I don’t plan on storing them permanently in the desk.
What do you store in your desk drawers? I’m never sure what to put in my desk drawers. I’ve got tools in the bottom left drawer and the larger top left drawer is where I keep our bill paying paperwork. (Aren’t the dovetail joints to die for?)
I try to keep things to a bare minimum on the work surface to avoid distractions. It may seem like a lot for other people, but for me this is bare minimum. The pig atop the candle has a solar panel and when I turn my lamp on it makes him flap his wings. Isn’t that cute (and necessary π )?
The wood is by no means in great condition. There are deep scratches and dents all over, but I personally love the look it has.
Those boxes beneath the desk are temporary. They’re fragile items that I need to get around to fixing. They’re sentimental so I’m taking my time to figure out how to fix them.
As always, I hope you’ve enjoyed a glimpse into my world. This space is turning out to be pretty special and I love sharing the progress with you!

This is gorgeous! I am thinking I need to redo my blogging area. It needs a little work!

I am a craigslist stalker!! I have so much fun finding just the right thing on there, so I just had to come check out your find. What an awesome desk! And you’re right, a total steal! I think my favorite part are the stamps inside, how cool that it has a visual history like that. Glad I stopped by! (Found you on Create It Thursday)

Corinna, love your office. I love old desk like the one that you have. You are brave, I would not photograph the hot mess that is located in my desk drawers.
CorinnaAshley says
Ha, Thanks Carmody! I’ve got to keep it real. I don’t want to pretend things are what they’re not!
Jill @ Do Try This at Home says
I’m going to TOTALLY pretend when and if I post a picture of my desk!!!! π π π
Ashley @ 3 Little Greenwoods says
I loved seeing where you blog! Creating an office area for me is definitely in the works for this year. Thanks for the tip for putting the desk in the corner so you don’t get distracted while working!

Yay! I hope the tip works for you! If it doesn’t, play around with configurations! You never know what will work for you until you find it! <3
Val @ Home Made Modern says

What a score!
Jill @ Do Try This at Home says
Oh I used to have a desk like that with the pull out panels and everything! I’m wishing all it took to keep ME focused was to pull the desk away from the window. π π As for what I keep in the drawers…nothing right now! The baby keeps dumping everything and so I bought some little drawers at Hobby Lobby and keep everything way up on the very tip top of my desk now. π I like the colors you’ve used!!! Jill

Thanks so much! I ADORE this desk and am so thankful I can close the door on this room! Bubby is still horrible at leaving things alone in drawers. Whenever he’s in here with me he normally goes straight for the makeup. Meh, this time will eventually pass π

I love , love love that desk. And I love that you left it in its natural state.

Stopping by from Wow Me Wednesday . That is so cool that it has the locations inside the drawer! I love you r curtain- how did you make it?
CorinnaAshley says
I made the curtains with duct tape! I shared the tutorial on the Love Nerds blog- here’s a link! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and appreciate the history behind my desk! <3

Such a cool space to work in!!! I love how functional your desk is!!!

i avoid a desk with drawers, i’ll end up with a bunch of junk in the drawers. i commend you for having drawers and not planning on keeping what is in them in them for the long term. I love how you’ve spruced up the space you work in, its good motivation to make my own space inspiring.
The Women of Westwood says
Those curtains are awesome and that desk is adorable!

What a great work space! LOVE the curtains… I have a really nice office which is now stuffed full of JUNK that I need to work on (old shutters, lampshades, vinyl records….)! I really need an organized space like yours! Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday ~ you’ve inspired me to do something with my office… I hope we see you again next week! Julia

What a great score! I love craigslist. I scored our solid wood dining table for $50 and refinished it.
I like to store stationary stuff in my desk drawer… I know I’m so boring…lol. Thanks for sharing on Merry Monday.

Such a fun space! I am working on my little home office space right now, and I am really going for a creative, energetic but still pretty neutral vibe. That is exactly the feel that this space has! Love it!

What a great Craiglist find, I actually love the chippy paint and gold hardware, and those curtains what a clever idea I would have never thought to use duct tape!
